Indian thermal adventure
In the midwest of India lies the state of Maharashtra, with its metropolis, Mumbai. East of Mumbai, a mountain range runs parallel to the coast from north to south, offering a picturesque table-mountain scenery on the inland side.
Two well-known flying arenas have established themselves there, which we will visit on this trip. We explored the region for you and were impressed by the very consistent and good flying conditions at this time of year, the colorful Indian life, and the unique landscape.
Federico Brown Manzone will share all his know-how with you immediately after the World Cup, which will take place there this year, and start this journey with you.
We plan to spend a few days warming up in the Kamshet area and then base ourselves in Panchgani. A lively town with a pleasant climate, perched on the plateau of one of the table mountains, with the opportunity to take flight right on the outskirts of the city. From there, we’ll set ourselves interesting XC tasks every day to fully experience the arena from the air and enjoy the special atmosphere there.

Getting there
Own arrival. The meeting point is Mumbai Airport (BOM), with pickup on February 24, 2026, at 12 p.m. (noon). Departure and return flight from Mumbai on March 8, 2026, starting at 3 p.m. We will be happy to assist you with flight advice.
A passport is required for entry and must be valid until at least the date of departure. A visa is required for Swiss and German nationals. The visa must be applied for before entry at an Indian diplomatic mission or as an e-visa.

SHV/DHV Pilot or IPPI 4. Thermal experience and XC knowledge. Please contact us if you have any questions about your flight level.
