From the Pacific coast to the Altiplano

This trip is definitely one of the most varied and diverse in our program. We begin our adventure in the capital, Lima, where we soar past the skyscrapers of this 14 million-strong metropolis.

Afterwards, we continue to the Peruvian kitesurfing mecca of Paracas. With a bit of luck, you can even complete part of the route in the air. Paracas itself is a true beach soaring paradise amidst a breathtaking desert landscape: ideal conditions for playful flights, top landings, and extensive strong wind training.

Our route then leads into the sand desert of Ica. There we spend the night in the Huacachina oasis, whose impressive sand dunes serve as our next flying arena. The next stop is Nazca, world-famous for its millennia-old geoglyphs, the so-called Nazca Lines. Those who wish can take a sightseeing flight over the lines in a small plane upon arrival (see information below).

Early the next morning we set off on our final lowland adventure: an optional hike & fly that takes us to one of the world’s largest dunes in about two and a half hours, just in time for sunrise.

Afterwards, a long but impressive drive awaits us, reaching an altitude of 4,600 meters towards Cuzco. Halfway there, we’ll make a two-day stopover and use the time to fly over Inca ruins and mountain lagoons.

We continue to the picturesque Sacred Valley, where we set up our base camp for five nights. The surrounding area offers numerous flight opportunities: In the morning, we usually enjoy two to three hours of thermals or shorter cross-country flights before taking a break at lunchtime – valley winds and thermals are often quite strong at this time of year. There’s no shortage of alternatives, as the area around the Sacred Valley and Cuzco has so much to offer. Flights from Cerro Sacro, Cuzco’s local mountain, are planned for the evening.

Optionally, you can also book a day trip to the world-famous Inca site of Machu Picchu (see information below). Another morning hike & fly to the Inca Sun Gate high above the Sacred Valley is also planned; if you like, you can also reach the Sun Gate on horseback.

We spend the last night in the former Inca capital of Cuzco, whose unique, well-preserved old town is a delight.

Our Peru Explorer is aimed at curious pilots who want to explore this fascinating country both from the air and on the ground. You should be prepared to take longer drives to experience Peru’s vast landscapes in all their glory.

For this trip, we require safe reverse takeoff, independent flight decisions, flexibility, and a spirit of adventure.
