South Africa is a paradise for paragliding vacations with extremely varied flying areas for all forms of our hobby. We start in Wilderness on the Garden Route, where we soar in the laminar wind over the Indian Ocean along green cliffs and often watch entire schools of dolphins playing with the waves. Top landing, ground handling, wingovern over the blue ocean… Wilderness is a huge paragliding playground with several take off and landing sites that has a lot to offer for every skill level.

Afterwards we will head towards Cape Town and its world famous wine growing areas. There we will spend a few nights in historic and picturesque Stellenbosch. The town is ideally situated between the flying areas on the Cape Peninsula, the flying areas around Hermanus and the areas in the Cape Town wine growing region. Thermalling over sophisticated wine farms, flying over cosmopolitan Cape Town or soaring over the deep blue Atlantic. Anything is possible, the wind and the weather will decide.

To complete the South African contrast program, we drive to Porterville for the finale. The small farming town is located in the dry and hot interior and is known for its reliable thermal and cross-country flying conditions. As diverse as the verdant Garden Route, the historically elegant wine country and the down-to-earth Porterville are, flying vacations in South Africa are just as varied.

If wind and weather do not cooperate, South Africa offers a wealth of alternative programs with its unspoiled nature, diverse wildlife, eventful history and excellent cuisine.
