Expedition Baltics 2

Flying uncharted territory for most Alpine pilots. After many years of very good experience with the Lithuanian lowlands, we are now expanding our flying radius in the Baltic States. The neighboring country of Latvia is also waiting to be discovered with top wind launch sites and good conditions.

The lowlands of the two neighboring countries are perfect in summer to indulge in following the cloud roads. We drag ourselves into the Baltic sky with mobile roll-off winches, hone our flatland XC technique and enjoy the panoramic view.

Ideally, beautiful cumuli show us the way over the fertile land, crisscrossed by narrow rivers, countless lakes and forests. Just this arrangement makes the land very nicely “readable” for thermals and breakaway edges, which we are on the trail of. Ideally, enjoy the very beautiful and, above all, relaxed flight options and the opportunity to cover many kilometers.

After a few trips we are always surprised by the potential for long flights, the beauty of the landscape and the safe flying conditions. We allow ourselves to be “guided” by the weather conditions, try to cover some stages by flying, and if the conditions are good we might even visit the Latvian coast to glide into the late sunset and, as always, remain flexible.

There is also the “special” opportunity to create a beautiful boat tow in the Lithuanian lagoon. Look forward to a Baltic adventure, many new impressions and rely on a top winch team!
