Thermal Camp Southern Alps
Thermals, technique and tactics
In February we leave the cold north and travel to the southern edge of the Alps in search of the first thermals.
Depending on the weather, we will decide at short notice where we will set up our wings. In Slovenia, Italy, Istria or southern France, there are many areas that already work well in early spring.
On this trip, we’ll focus on thermal flying. We’ll show you how to navigate the terrain to find updrafts. We’ll practice the correct technique for optimally exploiting thermals.
In detailed briefings in the morning, you will receive important background knowledge before you can practice and enjoy thermal flying independently or with radio support.
If you have any questions, we will be happy to advise you and try to refine your skills step by step. The goal is that after this week you can start the spring thermals with a lot of experience and well practiced.
